Acceptable Use Policy
Version v1-2026-05-13 · Last updated 2026-05-13.
Chokala hosts independent creators and the visitors who support them. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the categories of content and conduct that are not permitted on the Platform, and how Chokala responds when a violation is reported. The AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service and applies to every Creator and Visitor.
1. Prohibited content
You may not upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available through the Platform any content that:
- Violates the law. Content unlawful under any applicable jurisdiction, including but not limited to fraud, securities violations, illegal sale of regulated goods (firearms, controlled substances, prescription medications), and content that violates export-control or sanctions laws.
- Infringes intellectual property. Content that infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, or other intellectual-property right of any third party. See our DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy for the formal procedure to report copyright infringement.
- Sexually exploits minors. Any depiction of minors in a sexual or sexualized context is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement. To report suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM): email abuse@chokala.gg with subject line "CSAM REPORT". Do NOT include the material itself in the email; provide URLs only.
- Promotes hate or violence. Content that promotes, incites, or glorifies hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Harasses or threatens. Content that harasses, threatens, intimidates, stalks, or doxes any individual; that incites others to do so; or that targets a specific individual with sustained malicious behavior.
- Is sexual in nature without proper context. [OPERATOR-VERIFY] Chokala's posture on adult content is platform-defined; consult the Creator-onboarding guide for the current rules.
- Contains malware, exploits, or unauthorized code. Files, links, or scripts intended to compromise the integrity, security, or availability of the Platform, of Visitors' devices, or of any third-party system.
- Constitutes spam. Unsolicited promotional content, bulk identical posts, content posted purely to game ranking or discovery systems, or content designed to deceive Visitors about its commercial nature.
- Impersonates another person. Content posted under a false identity, content that impersonates a public figure, brand, or organization without clear satirical or parodic context, or content that misrepresents the Creator's affiliation with any person or organization.
- Defrauds Visitors. Content that solicits payments under false pretenses, that misrepresents the goods or services offered, or that participates in any scheme to defraud Visitors or third parties.
- Promotes self-harm. Content that encourages or glorifies suicide, self-injury, eating disorders, or other forms of self-harm.
- Depicts graphic violence without context. Gratuitous depictions of real-world violence, mutilation, or death without educational, journalistic, or documentary framing.
The categories above are illustrative, not exhaustive. Chokala reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether content violates this AUP.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not, in connection with your use of the Platform:
- Bypass technical controls. Probe, scan, test the vulnerability of, or attempt to bypass any access control, authentication mechanism, rate limit, or content filter.
- Scrape or harvest data. Use automated means
(bots, scrapers, crawlers) to collect Creator data, Visitor
data, content, or any other Platform data without
Chokala's prior written permission. Public-facing
pages may be indexed by major search engines that respect our
robots.txt; all other automated access is prohibited. - Abuse rate limits. Generate request volume that materially exceeds ordinary human-driven use, that interferes with the Platform's operation, or that is designed to evade rate-limit controls.
- Evade enforcement. Create new accounts to evade a suspension or termination, ban-evade by proxy, use shared infrastructure to circumvent prior enforcement actions, or otherwise attempt to undo a moderation decision through technical or social means.
- Interfere with other accounts. Take any action that disrupts another Creator's or Visitor's use of the Platform, including denial-of-service against any account, mass-flagging campaigns intended to trigger automated moderation, or coordinated harassment.
- Misuse the reporting system. Submit reports that are knowingly false, that are submitted in bad faith, or that are designed to weaponize Chokala's moderation process against another Creator.
3. Reporting violations
If you believe content or conduct on the Platform violates this AUP, please send a report to abuse@chokala.gg including:
- The URL(s) of the content or the username(s) of the account(s) involved.
- A description of the violation and which AUP section you believe was violated.
- Any supporting context (screenshots, prior history, etc.) that would help us evaluate the report.
- Your contact information so we can follow up if needed. Anonymous reports are accepted but limit our ability to respond directly.
For copyright infringement specifically, use the formal DMCA procedure at /dmca rather than this general reporting line — DMCA notices have statutory requirements that general AUP reports do not.
4. Response and enforcement
Chokala reviews reports as soon as reasonably practicable. [OPERATOR-DECIDE-D12: takedown SLA target — the published response window for substantially-complete reports is currently being finalized. Reports involving imminent harm (CSAM, threats of violence, etc.) are prioritized for immediate review regardless of the published SLA.]
When a violation is confirmed, Chokala may take any of the following actions, in its sole discretion, in proportion to the severity of the violation and the Creator's history:
- Warning. Written notice to the Creator identifying the violation, the AUP section involved, and the remediation expected.
- Content removal. Removal or de-indexing of the offending content. The Creator is notified.
- Feature restriction. Temporary or permanent restriction of specific Platform features (uploads, payment processing, discoverability) without account suspension.
- Suspension. Temporary disabling of the Creator's account, typically pending a remediation step or a cooling-off period.
- Termination. Permanent termination of the Creator's account, including forfeiture of any pending payouts (subject to applicable law).
- Reporting to authorities. For violations involving illegal content (CSAM, credible threats, etc.), reporting to law enforcement and to applicable hotlines (NCMEC for CSAM, etc.).
Repeat violations escalate. The exact escalation path depends on the nature of the violation; see also the repeat-infringer policy in our DMCA policy for the copyright-specific framework.
5. Appeals
A Creator who believes an enforcement action was taken in error may appeal by replying to the enforcement notification email or by writing to abuse@chokala.gg within thirty (30) days of the action. Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not involved in the original decision when feasible. Chokala's appeal decision is final.
6. Changes to this AUP
Chokala may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
